French Onion Soup

Serving : 4 to 6 People
Ingredients
- 14oz of onions (400g)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1.3 Litre of beef stock
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of cognac
- 1 Baguette (or any kind of bread for the croutons)
- Swiss cheese
Preparation
- Slice the onions
- Pour the olive oil into a saucepan
- Slowly cook the onions
- Add the beef stock and the Cognac
- Let it cook for about 20mins
- Cut some slices of bread
- Pour some olive oil onto a large baking tray and add crushed garlic
- Turn the bread over on the tray whilst cooking for 25mins in the oven
Pour the soup into a bowl, top it with croutons and add the grated cheese on top!
